Born in San Jose, Costa Rica. Influenced by his father, who is also a professional drummer, he developed the same interest and passion by watching him study and rehearse as he was growing up.

Kin studied classical  percussion at the University of Costa Rica and the Juvenile Simphonic Orchestra. He is currently known as one of the most influential drummers in Central America for his power, technique and finesse. He is also recognized for his great versatility in different musical genres such as: rock, pop, soul, jazz, fusion, R&B, latin and others.
Kin works as studio musician and live as well. He has performed with the best artists in Costa Rica and for recognized international artists such as Andy Summers (The Police), Fareed Haque, Jean Michael Byron (Toto), Nito Mestre, Rachelle Jeanty (Celine Dion).
He has recorded more than 20 albums throughout his career. With the album "Solo Paz" by Porpartes, Kin was nominated to a Latin Grammy in 2007. Also, the album "Para quien quiera que seas, donde quiera que estes" by Escats, was awarded with a gold record from Sony BMG in 2008.
Kin Rivera Jr. will be taking his first soloist DVD out in the market very soon. His current band, Escats, recently took their first live DVD for the album "Para que estes...en el concierto" out in the market as well, and their latest release is the album “Manual Práctico del Amor y el desamor”
